Hoist: Double Drum One drum clutched with 2 arm clutch on outboard drum, bearing in middle of main shaft, four bearings total on shaft. Drums Cast Spiders, construction , Drums are split. One independent stiffener ring per drum.
Brake Engines Drums: Parallel Acting Drum type, on the drum, Air brake cylinders. with weighted closure, Wood brake friction pads
Pinion Brake: Air Operated Spring Set four caliper acting on 36” Disc
Motors: 2 Each GE, 1,500 Hp, 500/580 RPM, 500 Volt, Shunt Wound DC motors, Armature Amps: 2,370, Field Amps: 31.2, Field Ohms 5.2, Driving on fixed “inboard” side of hoist.
Main Bull Gear: Herring Bone 24” Face about 10’ Diameter, some minor pitting 152 teeth
Intermediate Pinion: Herringbone 39 Teeth
Intermediate Bull Gears: Double Bull Gears mounted on a single shaft on either side of intermediate pinion 185 teeth, Both gears make up both sides of a herringbone gear
First Pinion: double cut herring bone to match the two intermediate bull gears. 26 teeth
Note: if intermediate Bull gear and pinion are removed and two pinions are cut with 22 teeth to match primary pinion, the hoist could be driven by 2 Each 1,500 Hp motors and would have a speed of 2,296 FPM at 57,000 Lbe of line pull in balance
